Watson Rally EMB Successfully Completes Third Consecutive Winter Testing Program

Watson Rally EMB Receives Customer Milestone Validation; Three Years of Testing Data Builds Mass Production Confidence

In early Q1 2026, Watson Rally successfully concluded its annual winter testing program for the Electro-Mechanical Brake (EMB) system at an extreme-cold test facility in Heilongjiang. During the program, engineering teams from SAIC-GM-Wuling and Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center visited the site to witness key testing milestones and conduct phased technical reviews.

This marks the third consecutive year Watson Rally has completed full-vehicle calibration and environmental validation for its EMB system under extreme winter conditions, continuing to advance the engineering application and industrialization of its EMB technology.

The rigorous testing program was conducted in sustained sub-zero temperatures. Test vehicles across multiple platforms equipped with Watson Rally EMB systems were operated on various low-friction surfaces, including ice, snow, compacted snow and ice, and cold asphalt. The program successfully verified both braking control performance and vehicle dynamics control functions.

Working in close collaboration with customer engineering teams, the tests thoroughly evaluated critical aspects such as low-temperature actuator response, transmission reliability, and control strategy consistency. All system performance metrics successfully met their design targets. The customer teams confirmed the milestone test results, providing an important basis for further project development.

Completion of this winter testing program comes at a key moment for the commercialization of EMB technology. China's GB 21670-2025 ("Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Passenger Car Braking Systems") officially took effect on January 1, 2026, while updates to Europe's ECE R13 regulation are steadily progressing toward implementation. Together, these regulatory milestones establish the essential framework for global EMB deployment. With several leading Chinese OEMs announcing plans to integrate EMB into production vehicles, the era of commercial electro-mechanical braking has officially begun.

Backed by three consecutive years of system-level validation across diverse climate conditions, Watson Rally continues to refine the engineering maturity of its EMB products. The company is now actively collaborating with industry partners to drive the next stage of large-scale commercial deployment.

Founded in 2022, Watson Rally focuses on the development of EMB technology and is among the early companies in China dedicated to full in-house EMB engineering. The company offers end-to-end capabilities spanning brake module design, system integration, and vehicle-level calibration.

To support this growth, Watson Rally operates a dedicated smart manufacturing facility for brake products in Pinghu, Zhejiang. Annual production capacity for front brake calipers and EPB products has reached several million units. The company's manufacturing excellence and production management systems have been rigorously proven through large-scale mass production. The core leadership team brings extensive experience in automotive braking R&D and manufacturing.

Looking ahead, Watson Rally remains committed to its mission to "Challenge the Limits for Breakthrough Technologies." Through continuous engineering validation and technological innovation, the company will keep collaborating with global partners to expand the application of EMB systems across a broader range of vehicle platforms.
